Initial Comment:
When I enable the option to test the ldap connection upon saving the connection options, the page either doesn't load or it just gives me a page with the admin menu and admin header, but no content. There are no errors in the apache log, and the ldap module is installed and enabled.

This seems exactly like case number: 2914358 but i guess the upgrade worked for that user.
