Wormwood is still in development, in case anybody is wondering. There is a working version of wormwood.03 out there, however the release is being held for the XFCE 4.8 release. Right now it is still based off of Ubuntu 10.04/Mint 9 as we feel the LTS release makes sense to build a stable operating from.

The project team has also been working on a media center OS similar to wormwood. It packs a punch, but right now is mainly just a hobby project.... read more

Finally.... there are still a few issues, but is steadily becoming more usable. A couple of notes. Please read before downloading. wormwood is still Alpha, so there are bound to be a few hiccups here and there. Please report any issues in the help and/or bug tracker sections of the forum.

1. When shutting down a system booted from the LiveCD, the wormwood splash screen freezes and doesn't shut down properly. Simply hitting ENTER will eject the disk and shut down the computer. This issue should be fixed in the next release.... read more

The much anticipated (or not) release of wormwood.02 will be happening very soon. There is one screenshot currently up so take a peek. Here a few notes about the new release.....

1. wormwood.02 has been built from scratch using an Ubuntu command line install. It is no longer based on Linux Mint. This gave us much more flexibilty.

2. wormwood.02 can be written to a CD instead of a DVD. OpenOffice has been abandoned for AbiWord/Gnumeric. OpenOffice can always be installed from the repositories if more advanced office functions are required.... read more

After much discussion, it has been decided that wormwood.02 will drop drop the fluxbox window manager and use xfce instead. This will keep it light, while adding a plethora of necessary features. For now it will use xfce only, but in the future will include both fluxbox and xfce (or possibly a hybrid of the two).

Also, wormwood will no longer be based of off Linux Mint. It will be built from scratch using a base CLI only Ubuntu system (or possibly Debian) in the future.... read more

Check it out. It's a little rough around the edges, and improvements have already been made for the next release.....

wormwood.01 is somewhat of a blueprint of what we would like to accomplish with this project. Things will change (for the better, we hope) with each "alpha" release of wormwood.

We've only touched the surface with wormwood.01, and hope to create something usable and exciting by the time wormwood 1. is pushed through.

wormwood.01 is coming soon! We'll be adding screenshots, features and other information within the next few days, so stay tuned.
