Hmm. This ties to another question we keep coming back to. I claim that the original idea of archived project files came from the idea that we should be able to clear cache directories safely, and that we planned that we should eventually be able to restore file from their PF copies. This is not consistent with the many homes idea. Of course, we have explicitly "persistent" cache directories now, so I'm not sure how important that eventual possible feature is anymore.
