OK. I don't see any crashes in the server log. Plus the message in the browser inspector suggests it's a client-side problem anyway. Is there any additional information in the console (within the inspector) or attached to the "ReferenceError" message?

Also I wonder if it could involve something not getting delivered to the browser. If it happens again, please look at the "network" section of the inspector and see if there's anything in red, meaning it was requested but didn't arrive. Something like this might happen if you get JavaScript modules that use the "mw" object but don't get the one that defines it.

I've tried that page a few times now. I had several long waits, and a
couple times it came quickly. The first time I successfully loaded it,
there was a "Could not make" message, but I didn't get a look at the log
file. Now it's reloaded and the figure is successfully made. I looked at
the server log, but so far I haven't found anything informative. I'll
look some more.

Thank you!
If possible please send a URL that does this. It's usually a crash on
the server side.
what if it crashes only from time to time and probably randomly
last time (~ 5 minutes ago) it happened here: http://lalashan.mcmaster.ca/theobio/evolCancer/index.php/Low-impact_treatments_paper/Machinery (I am currently working on it)

no, only that one + constant loading
sorry, what exactly do you mean by 'constant loading'?
the page is loading, it loads a part of it and then it goes blank with that message and continuing loading
terrible!
I know
Andrei - I'm about to go to a meeting, will be back later...
A plus
(probably, it is again a local problem with my browser - thank you for trying to help!)
of course - it's in your browser but I don't think it's the browser's fault, I think it's ours.
Hi Lee,
just for the record
Can you please check again?

again that blank page (after 5 minutes still no response) - usually it happens when I import a file and then go back to the WW-page
