#599 Error handling weirdness

When I edited and previewed the big file on this page, WW did not show the file and reported that make failed.

Make, on the other hand reported success, but with an internal "exit 1" that looked like it was connected to a .d file. This was reproducible through multiple previews. I didn't CP it, because I assumed it would be shown after I saved.

But in fact it shows properly on save (maybe because it didn't go as deep into make this time).
