Since a final slash after a directory name in linux never hurts (having two does not cause a problem) the make variables for prerequisite directories should have them. This would allow putting $(PROJECT_DIR_THIS_PROJECT)fn.ext into rules that live in a service project and having them interpreted correctly at home and away by default.
