Consideration is being given to having a button to copy a filename to the clipboard which enables pasting it using the keyboard shortcuts (ctrl-v) or mouse clicks that are now widely used (rather than clicking the middle button as was "the Linux Way" as has previously been implemented).

If this is implemented so the button copies the filename with full path, then could the button if clicked with the right mouse button then copy only the filename (without the path) or perhaps just the basename without the three letter file extension?

In version 4.12.0 I have improved the copy functions so ctrl-c/v works besides middle mouse paste. If you want to have parts of the file name copied to the clipboard, you can use the command "Copy string to clipboard" which can also use flags to use the file name without extension, for example.
