Hello, I have no idea if the mailing list is still active. However I just wanted to inform all users we are updating a bit the code with some bugfixes and new features. Please checkout: http://hg.ninux.org/wnmap/timeline Our production web site is here: http://map.ninux.org New features: * KML now draws also links * Address Search with Geocoding now works using google API and does not require php allow_url_fopen * Added button to export map to Android phones Maybe somebody using Wnmap wants to pull the new features. Ciao :) Saverio PS: Eric you are famous now in Italy because of Firesheep! :) |

On https://hg.ninux.org/wnmap I've set up a trac+mercurial, and there are already two new changesets. Let me know if everybody is ok with this solution, otherwise we can host the project elsewhere... Ops :) I'll change my ~/.hgrc asap The most recent file is the correct one, because there is also the option to change the language (as far as now only English and Italian are supported) I'll make the commit as soon as I find a tiny timeslot to do it :) If someone has time to do it just proceed :) Saverio |

Hi everyone, The repository currently has two "default" configuration files: * config.dist.php * config.php.dist I assume one of these is outdated, could someone please delete the other one? 'saverio' (who needs to change his username in his ~/.hgrc file to include his full name and email :) created the more recent of the two files. http://wnmap.sourceforge.net/hg/wnmap/file/51b8ffc0d82e/htdocs/config.dist.php http://wnmap.sourceforge.net/hg/wnmap/file/51b8ffc0d82e/htdocs/config.php.dist Thanks, Eric |

Hi, everybody! Introducing myself: I'm Claudio (Clauz) from ninux.org, the one who pushed some graphic theme enhancements and italian language support :) A guy wrote me an e-mail asking for the latest stable version's source code of WNmap, and I just sent him an "hg archive"d version of the head revision. The code can be enhanced, but we are using it on map.ninux.org without problems, so I was thinking that maybe we can make a snapshot and put it in the downloads section of sf.net... What do you think about it? Bye, Claudio |

I managed almost everything :) I found some help on the EFnet IRC channel of Seattle Wireless. Still I have been told that the latest code around is not the one on the SVN server of SourceForge Is it possible to have the latest sources ? Here at Ninux.org we are thinking of making a patch, to collect active data from the OLSR routing daemon to draw the actually up links. But we would like to code starting from the latest sources :) thanks a lot Saverio |

Hey everyone, Here is a diff against trunk that brings WNMap in sync with http://map.seattlewireless.net/. http://eric.extremeboredom.net/code/wnmap-changes-20070130.diff Significant Changes: * Added "Location" and "Distance" tabs to node info popup. Can calculate the distance between two nodes. * New fields when adding node: - Jabber ID - Website - Publish email (yes/no) * Various code cleanups * Perhaps other stuff I can't think of right now If someone could test these changes before I commit to trunk, that would be great. There may be a few outstanding issues, so I recommend backing up both the database and website files. If you have problems send me an instant message, my jabberid is er...@ex.... Also if anyone has any new themes they would like to share, I'd love to get those into trunk as well. Regards, Eric |

Hi Drew, This site appears to be unable to connect to your MySQL server: http://alamedawireless.org/nodemap/data.php And regarding http://map.cuwireless.net/, try updating to the latest WNMap which uses version 2.0 of the API, that sees to work better for everyone. Let me know how it goes. Regards, Eric |

I've finished porting WNMap to GMap2 and landed the updates on the trunk. A new tarball is available for download: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wnmap/wnmap-20060520.tar.gz?download Your config.php file will need to be updated to support the new configuration keys and settings. Let me know if you have any problems. Chase |

I had some free time today so I sat down to commit what progress I had made on the GMap2 port a couple of weeks ago and push farther on it.=20 The port is mostly done. All that needs to be updated is the tooltip functionality (which underwent a major change in GMap2). The work in-progress can be seen at: http://svn.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.cgi/wnmap/branches/gmap2-port/ SVN checkout URL is: https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/wnmap/branches/gmap2-port/ To bring tooltips back I may rewrite NodeMarker to be based on GxMarker. Please let me know if you know of any GMarker extensions like GxMarker that provide this kind of functionality. Chase |

I estimate it's somewhere between 60%-75% complete. Along the way I've found some interesting bugs in the code along with a better way to subclass GMarker that causes fewer errors within the Maps API. Drew, I'd be interested in work you do on a port to GMap2, as well. Chase |
