Hi, since wmlive seems to be lightweight and fast wouldn't it be a good idea to create an image for the raspberry pi? or ist there a way to build by own raspberry installation from scratch?

this sounds indeed like yet another very good idea! Any code contribution is very welcome, and i will sure try to lend a hand to get you going with the basics. As i don't own a raspberry nor have any real personal interest in one of these nice gadgets, i can't provide more than that.
As always, the numbers of ideas are endlessly abundant, but people actually investing effort, time, and money into the required work are frustratingly scarce.
Personally, i won't be able (nor am i willing) to invest any more effort than the one needed to scratch my own itch, as there is no further benefit coming out of it for myself. Others should thus feel free to scratch their own itch and contribute the code, if they want.
Basically, wmlive is a one man effort so far, and while i have invested lots of free and unpaid time into this project, there has been no reward of any kind other than some very polite and welcome thank you mails, and just a handful of useful bug reports. While i am glad people like and use that little project all over the world, i don't see how it can be enhanced any further without either practical help by people who actually do, or by some severe funding by those users who can't do themselves.
Said that, please go ahead and try adapating the build scripts for creation of a raspberry image. Feel free to send me your questions, and i will try to help as much as i am able to.
