I want wlassistant to automatically detect where the .pid and .info/.leases files of a running DHCP client are. Searching everywhere takes lots of time, so I would like to narrow the search paths to the list created with the help of users.
Lack of autodetection makes many users complain that wlassistant does not work for them. Currently you can change these paths in wlassistantrc, but this seems too hard for an average user. So I need help!
The possible locations I'm aware of are (%1 is substituted with interface name):
So where are the .pid and .info/.leases files on your distro?
Thanks for your help!
On gentoo, dhcpcd .pid is at /var/run/dhcpcd-wlan0.pid, and dhcpcd .info is at /var/lib/dhcpc/dhcpcd-wlan0.info.
Thank you for your help. All the search paths you provided will be taken into account in the 0.5.5 release.
If it's in a different place on your system - post it here, so I can add it in the next releases.
For Mandriva, all of the locations have already been mentioned except the .leases which is located at:
(there are also dhclient-%1.leases files located in this directory)
No mentions of dhclient.
