Both are not quite the same. SF itself holds your source
repository, the homepage, the bug tracker and all that stuff.
Freshmeat is more like a directory where you can add an
entry for your software, making it easier for people to find
it. FM also allows for automatic notification of new
releases, which is fine for people who don't read forums
regularly. Please have a look at http://freshmeat.net/projects/cabfe/, my FM entry for my
