Thanks for the reply Phil,

I am now trying to figure out how that file vanishes (actually 'those files'
- my tester has been able to cause this on a few VMs!?)

Any ideas why this could happen (besides tampering?).  

These machines may be localized in different languages, too, but my tester
insists that it all happens in English.
