Hi there,

Thanks for keeping WireShare alive guys, it's really, really appreciated. Here's my problem: I tried to install and run WireShare 5.6.4.3 on Fedora 22 x86_64 with the MATE desktop. The installation went fine but when I tried to launch it I got a window telling the following: "OOPS, unable to locate java, you need to have Java version 1.6.x or newer. WireShare works best with Oracle's JRE available at http://www.java.com".

I'm attaching the console log of the installation (and of when I tried to run the program from the command line). In a nutshell, java-1.8.0-openjdk is listed in the dependencies and installed, but apparently WireShare keeps looking for Java 6 in various directories and ends up finding nothing.

In case it would be useful, here's the output of uname -a:
Linux localhost.localdomain 4.1.3-200.fc22.x86_64 #1 SMP Wed Jul 22 19:51:58 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

If I can do something useful, please feel free to yell at me.

As another java application was already working like a charm (Phex) I didn't think installing Java specifically from https://www.java.com/en/download/linux_manual.jsp would change anything, but I nevertheless gave it a try and WireShare is now working just fine. I'm attaching the command line log just in case.

That said, it would probably be better if WireShare worked without needing a download from java.com for obvious reasons. I would also prefer to run free software, but Oracle's license is proprietary (see http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/terms/license/index.html )

This bug is closed as support for openjdk has been added as of version 6.0.0. Thank you for reporting it and we are sorry it took so long to close this issue.
