Hello everybody,

I'm working on a Powerbook G4 - 400 MHz, with Mac
OS X 10.2.8 installed and I experienced the same
problems as most of you do. I had my Buffalo WLAN
Card working until today it refused every service.
Problem was that it didn't get any IP-address via DHCP.

The only IP-adres I received was something like
169.254.*.*.

The only solution I could find was changing the channel
in my router's settings (e.g. 11 instead of 6 for my D-
Link DI-713P) and changing the network name from
default to a new name. I also changed the value of Web
Encryption to 128 bit in my router and changed the
position of the WEP key to 2 instead of 1.

Rebooting the router and changing all these values in
my Wireless Config Pane gave me at least the Signal
Strength. OK so far !!

Still I didn't have the desired IP-address. Looking again
in my routers settings revealed that he had changed the
values of the WEP Encryption back to "No WEP
Encryption and the position of the WEP key back to 1.
Changing these values again in the Wireless Config
Pane gave me my desired IP-address. Changing the
value of the DHCP-client-ID didn't change anything...

I hope this will help you a little bit further.

Don't hesitate to contact me when necessary !

Cheers,

P
