Possibly. I'd use the finder's command-f search function to find any=20
remaining bits of the other driver. Add search criteria like 'visible=20
or invisible' and 'contains the words "drivername" ' eg 'Ioxperts' as=20
the drivername if it was an ioxperts driver, to the fields defining=20
your search - these items I would then trash using something that=20
ignores permissions, like dropobliter, then reboot - this should=20
complete the uninstall (WARNING - be VERY careful you don't erase=20
essential files - stick to stuff that can definitely only be related to=20=
the older driver).
In /preferences (both user and system library based - and also whilst=20
on this point, don't forget there are /library/preferencepanes and =20
user/library/preferencepanes) there may be a com. =A3$%^&.plist =20
preferences file fro old drivers that can hold you up.
Seem to remember that Kori Lessing mentioned something about fixing=20
permissions on the subject of these purposely created folders, though=20
you'd really have to search the archives of the forum to dig up his=20
email. Sorry.
FYI - In general running /sbin/fsck -y (for 10.2.8 and upto) or=20
/sbin/fsck -f (if you are on a journaled system 10.3.x) then typing=20
reboot and hitting return after it shows 'disks ok' message (assuming=20
it has some tidying up to do) - (this is in 'single user' mode=20
.......maybe you ought to get some web-based good advice if this raw=20
UNIX single user mode is new to you !)......... and then running 'fix=20
permissions' from the app 'disk utility' (in your utilities folder) is=20=
often considered by many a good way of ensuring that installs of any=20
software are landing on a fresh healthy system.
Help !! - where are the real experts ?
