Hi all, I am having big problems with my orinoco silver pcmcia card on my powerbook g3 firewire OS 10.3.6. Really red a lot of the posting before writing this, and this all the things I've done: Edited Info.plist to make it load the drivers (pccard156,3). All things in order, network device en1 shows up, got the Panel in the system preferences, SigMeter show up in the bar beside the pcmcia icon and I can turn pccard off. So everything looks like it is working and the signal strenght goes up and down a bit but it is almost always full (I am doing this 1 meter from the access point). But, even if the signal is full I cannot connect to the network (but if I ping my IP address I get a response), and mainly, the lights on the card do not blink at all. The card is not broken for sure because I tested it on a PC. Here's the result of the Troubleshooting script: /Applications/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit name:~ name$ /Applications/Troubleshooting\ Info.command; exit ### system info ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.3.6 BuildVersion: 7R28 Darwin name.local 7.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 7.6.0: Sun Oct 10 12:05:27 PDT 2004; root:xnu/xnu-517.9.4.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC Power Macintosh powerpc ppc750 ### wireless driver files installed drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 4 Dec 23:24 WirelessDriver.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 25 Sep 2003 IOPCCardFamily.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 4 Dec 23:23 WirelessDriver PPane.prefPane ### wirelesscard info | | | "VersionOneInfo" = ("Agere Systems","Wireless PC Card Model$ | | +-o pccard156,3@0,0 <class IOPCCard16Device, registered, matched$ | | | "IOName" = "pccard156,3" | | | "IONameMatched" = "pccard156,3" | | | "IONameMatch" = ("pccard156,2","pccard1eb,807","pccard274$ ### network info lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet6 fe80::1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 gif0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1280 stf0: flags=0<> mtu 1280 en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::230:65ff:fe7e:1b8a prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.0.14 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255 ether 00:h8:56:56:34:34 media: autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex,hw-loopback> en1: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.0.7 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.0.255 ether 00:00:00:00:00:00 ******STRANGE????****** media: <unknown type> (DS11 <full-duplex>) status: active supported media: none manual autoselect DS1 <half-duplex> DS1 <full-duplex> DS2 <half-duplex> DS2 <full-duplex> DS5 <half-duplex> DS5 <full-duplex> DS11 <half-duplex> DS11 <full-duplex> fw0: flags=8822<BROADCAST,SMART,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 2030 lladdr 00:etc etc media: autoselect <full-duplex> status: inactive supported media: autoselect <full-duplex> ### wd command line tool status 2004-12-05 00:02:00.918 WirelessConfig[517] Iterations: 1 Network Name: homewireless, successful: Y Status: Network: homewireless WEP Enabled:NO Signal Strength:20529 logout [Process completed] Isn't this line " ether 00:00:00:00:00:00" strange?
