I wrote the IOXperts driver, which shares zero code with the freeware driver. Rob McKeever was the most recent maintainer of the freeware driver. I think that we may have waved to each other at some point at a MacWorld Expo, but that's the extent of the connection. > We were beta testers for > the driver. This is not true in any way. I believe that Rob did some work on contract for MacSense for their USB devices, and MacSense may assert a copyright on that work, but IOXperts has no copyright on (or interest in stifling the development) of Rob's driver. > Probably the reason you do not get responses with ioxperts is that the > author has gone on to other projects. This summer, the reason we've been slow to responding to support requests are that: (a) our support inbox is swamped with spam, so we occasionally miss real email, (b) Apple has been making life difficult for our video and webcam products, so they have been getting most of the attention, and (c) We're a really small company. We got overextended this summer, I'm afraid (and that includes how often I monitor this mailing list, as you can see from the fact that it took me 3 weeks to respond to a note mentioning the company :-). However, we've been revamping our mail server to try to get rid of the spam problem, and will be doing a number of other things in the near future that should help. Hope this clears a few things up, Amanda Walker IOXperts, Inc. |
