Folks, I do believe that the man who wrote the driver for ioxperts is the same person who was developing this driver. We were beta testers for the driver. He was paid for the ioxperts driver but this one was free. That's why there will be no further development on the free driver - ioxperts has a copyright on the finished product. That being said, we have come out smelling like a rose, getting an almost-finished product for free. The only problem I know with this driver is that the installer doesn't work right if you do not already have an "OTHER" section in your system preferences. Probably the reason you do not get responses with ioxperts is that the author has gone on to other projects. All new machines come Airport-ready, or with an Airport card installed. The only people who need this driver are people who have old machines (I am using it on my Lombard G3 and I am using the G3 as a web server, as the battery is dead and it isn't worth buying a new battery) So, if you can get this or the ioxperts driver to work, you have been able to extend the life and usefulness of your portable. If you cannot get either one to work, you may need to figure out another use for your PB. I've been on this list for 2-3 years, and that is my evaluation. I do read the messages and try to help when I can. But I have not seen the author post for many months. So enjoy what you have, and try to live with the minor problems that develop. Don't kvetch.
