Hi there, I have installed the wireless driver and it's working quite well, thankyouverymuch. There are two things that might make it better for me.... I'm running a Wallstreet w/ OS 10.2.8 and I ran into the same problem reported by Andrew Gallatin back in December '02. For those of you who don't remember, it has to do with wep and a RoamAbout card. In short, it doesn't work. He theorized some sort of race condition. One reply to that email was this: > From: Rob McKeever <robm@ma...> > Re: can"t transmit 85% of the time.. > 2002-12-03 21:46 > It hasn"t been checked into CVS yet, but will be shortly. Or is the consensus that WEP is a waste of time? In the meantime, I'm using a "Closed Network" -- does that really protect me? On a probably unrelated topic, I have another machine running OS 8.6. That machine is plugged into my Airport Base Station via ethernet. When I turn Appletalk sharing on both machines, the OS 8 machine can see the OS X machine, but the OS X machine doesn't see the OS 8 machine's shared disks. Is this because the driver only supports "TCP/IP" type of Appletalk traffic? Is this something that the non-free wireless driver might solve? Thanks for any and all help, Bark! __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - Send 10MB messages! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail |
