Your wireless has a self-assigned IP address of 169.254.255.255
Go to System Preferences, Select the WirelessConfig icon on the bottom,
and select a wireless service you want to connect to.
When you see a signal strength you should be okay.
Now select the Netowrk icon and look at the IP address for the en1
connection. It should say something other than 169.....
