In order to install Panther on a PB G3 Series, using XPostFacto 3.0a17 (that G3 model has no USB port, and is not "officially" compatible with Panther), I had to erase the contents of the partition containing 10.2.8, where I had been using beta5.
After completing the installation, I introduced back the PCMCIA Farallon Skyline card (no kernel panic), ran the beta5 .mpkg installer, restarted, selected en1, and that was it.
Thanks, again, to the developers of Wireless Driver.
