Here's a quick comment on this... If one does not already have a 3rd party preference pane installed, the '/ Library/PreferencePanes' folder will not exist and the wireless driver install will not create it. The easiest way to fix this is to install a nice SysPrefs applet like MenuMeters or X Resource Graph (see the search on versiontracker.com), which will create the folder, and THEN re-install the wireless driver.
