Errata on: Buffalo card and 802.11a Vincent Cayenne asked about the ability of the Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A card to function in an 802.11a environment. To avoid any conflict on this matter, my reply to Vincent is below. les --------- Vincent I may have over-spoke the 'stated boundaries' of the Buffalo card .. but I have used it, successfully, in an 802.11a environment: at least that was as I was told the environment to be. I've not specifically taken it to task, knowing the environment was solely 802.11a, to prove this beyond doubt. As the statement on the card and as well the Buffalo stats on their web site says, the card is functional across the 802.11b-g range. There are so few cards that will work - with regular expectation - on the Lombard Bronze KEY Powerbook, running Jaguar or Panther, that I've become inured to the need for discreet 802.11a functionality. For my personal network system - SoHo - is based upon a D-Link DI-624 router that is 802.11g and Howie's query was to the 614+ which is 802.11b. Both accessible, without problem, by the Buffalo WLI-CB-G54A card. Therefore my apologies for erring on this side of exuberance. A rephrase of my pronouncement should be, "This card 'sees' all ranges of WiFi, b-g." I believe that would be provable complete. Thank you for pointing out the error in the former declaration. les --------------------------------------------- NET500.CG J. Leslie Booth Owner/CiAS PO Box 2765 W.
