[Wirelessdriver-support] Orinoco Gold w/ PB G3 -333 "Bronze

Can someone suggest whether this problem is resolvable - and if so provide =
a strategy or two to handle it ?


I have installed the wirelessdriverbeta5 on my PB and cannot get the card =
to power up in 10.2.x.  Everything worked fine in 9.1 with this Orinoco =
gold card and the Airport Extreme.

1) I cannot get the card recognized.

2) When following the installation instructions the network pref pane.  =
"Ethernet Adaptor (en1)" does not show up in my Net pref pane.

3)  In the menu bar, the icon for the Orinoco card shows up, but the top =
two options "Lucent Tech" and "WaveLan  IEEE" are greyed out.  The only =
option available is "POWER OFF CARD" - suggesting to me that the card is =
on.

4)  The card shows no life other than this icon.  No LEDs flash at all.

5) Wirelessconfig does show up- however, everything is grey except  =
"Connect to wireless network named:" and I can not type anyting into the =
box.

6)  "Netwk overview" in System profiler includes line item for "Broadcast" =
169.254.255.255

Should note that the "wireless config" icon is on a separate line of sys =
prefs panel headlined "Other"

 PB G3  333 now running 10.2.8. 
Card:  ORINOCO  -  gold
Airport Extreme
Airport Admin v. 3.1.1

Any ideas are much appreciated.
