Hi all I am trying to use a Netgear WG511 (802.11b & g). After installing it =20= does not show up in the Network Control Panel, so I guess I am out of =20= luck. On the other hand I know a little bit of C/C++ and would like to =20 volunteer to help with testings, etc. I just would like to have some hints about where to start. This is some info I have gathered about the card: .- This webpage supports it for linux. The ISL3890 is called = "Prism =20 Duette": =20 http://ruslug.rutgers.edu/~mcgrof/802.11g/Documentation/=20 supported_cards.php .- This is the manufacturer=B4s model page: =20 http://www.netgear.com/products/details/WG511.asp This is the Troubleshooting Info script output. It seems to have some trouble finding some files, maybe because my OS =20= is in spanish? Notice that en1 is being used by Apple=B4s "IP over firewire". ### kext versions Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked =20 Against> 33 0 0x17ea5000 0x21000 0x20000 =20 com.apple.iokit.IOPCCardFamily (1.4.0) Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked =20 Against> ### system info ProductName: Mac OS X ProductVersion: 10.2.8 BuildVersion: 6R65 Darwin AnaPBG4.local. 6.8 Darwin Kernel Version 6.8: Wed Sep 10 =20 15:20:55 PDT 2003; root:xnu/xnu-344.49.obj~2/RELEASE_PPC Power =20 Macintosh powerpc ppc7450 /Applications/Graphics/3Delight-0.9.6//bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin ### wireless driver files installed drwxr-xr-x 3 root admin 102 Sep 23 16:23 SigMeter.app drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 23 16:23 WirelessDriver.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 11 00:49 IOPCCardFamily.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 11 01:11 AppleAirPort.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 11 00:46 AppleAirPort2.kext drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 11 01:10 AppleAirPortFW.kext /bin/ls: /Library/PreferencePanes: No such file or directory drwxr-xr-x 3 root wheel 102 Sep 23 16:23 WirelessDriver =20 PPane.prefPane /bin/ls: /usr/local/bin: No such file or directory ### wirelesscard info | | "VersionOneInfo" =3D ("Intersil","ISL3890","-","-") ### network info lo0: flags=3D8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 gif0: flags=3D8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1280 stf0: flags=3D0<> mtu 1280 en0: flags=3D8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::203:93ff:fe5a:cfb6%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.1.3 netmask 0xffff0000 broadcast 192.168.255.255 ether 00:03:93:5a:cf:b6 media: autoselect (10baseT/UTP <half-duplex>) status: active supported media: none autoselect 10baseT/UTP <half-duplex> =20 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex> 10baseT/UTP <full-duplex,hw-loopback> =20 100baseTX <half-duplex> 100baseTX <full-duplex> 100baseTX =20 <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 1000baseTX <full-duplex> 1000baseTX =20 <full-duplex,hw-loopback> 1000baseTX <full-duplex,flow-control> =20 1000baseTX <full-duplex,flow-control,hw-loopback> en1: flags=3D8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::20a:27ff:fe5a:cfb6%en1 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x5 ether 00:0a:27:5a:cf:b6 media: autoselect <full-duplex> status: inactive supported media: autoselect <full-duplex> ### wd command line tool status /Users/gerardo/Desktop/Troubleshooting Info.command: =20 /usr/local/bin/WirelessConfig: No such file or directory Regards Gerardo Alvarez |
