[Wirelessdriver-support] driver works. OK to update airport soft?

After modifying the ktext I'm up and running with my
proxim harmony card from tigerdirect. (still no WEP
though) I'm unclear about how the apple airport
software interacts with wirelessdriver. I use the OSX
auto update daily but I'm keeping the airport 3.1.1
download at bay till I'm sure it won't screw with the
wirelessdriver. Any explanations, advice, experiences?
