Scott, Couple things, 1) I have created a page describing my experience with WirelessDriver and my PB G3 using Orinoco, it may help. (http:musox.com/macosx/wirelessdriver.html) 2) At this time I have not been able to use WEP. Does the coffee shop require WEP? - Justin ---------- Original Message ------------- Subject: [Wirelessdriver-support] Cannot connect with Orinoco on PowerBook G3, but can connect with Airport on iBook Date: Fri, 8 Aug 2003 11:05:13 -0400 From: "Scott K." <ru...@be...> To: <wir...@li...> There is a public, wireless network at a local coffee shop. I can connect to the network with no problem using an iBook with Airport card. However, I cannot seem to connect to the network using the Orinoco card on a PB G3. When I enter the wireless network name under the WirelessConfig preference panel, it shows a signal. That is, the PB "sees" the network. But when I try to access the Internet or read email, I get nothing. I have double checked my Network Settings preferences. Everything seems as it should be. I should add that my PB with Orinoco works swimmingly on my home network using a Linksys wireless router/switch. The only thing I have yet to try is a manual IP config (vs. the current DHCP setup). Is there a way in OS X to "discover" the DNS server address(es) of the coffee shop's network using the working iBook and Airport card? Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions, Scott ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
