Dumb question here I expect...

Can I temporarily disable the wireless-driver and see if the Airport update
supports my Linksys PC Card? I also have a (currently non-functional under
OSX) Airport card installed.

I don't want to permanently lose the wireless-driver; just want to see what
Apple's up to with the Airport update if anything.
