I have an Apple Powerbook G3 (bronze keyboard - 333MHz, 320MB memory), OS X 10.2.6, an Airport Dual Ethernet base station, a Proxim Orinoco Gold wireless PC Card, and have downloaded and installed your WirelessDriverBeta5_1.1.dmg driver. I followed your installation instructions closely, successfully installing the software. After rebooting, I opened System Preferences, clicked on the Network panel and set it up as illustrated in your instructions (showing en1, configuring manually and entering the IP address of my cable modem ISP), opened WirelessConfig and completed it by entering the name of our wireless network (which is successfully being used by other computers in our house - both wired and with Airport cards), selecting 128-bit WEP encryption (first entering our actual text password, clicking Apply Now and then having it converted to hex code). I have repeatedly tried to get the PC Card to recognize the base station using the Airport Admin Utility, but with no success. It simply doesn't recognize it, no matter what I've done over the last several (I couldn't admit how many) hours! Please advise when you can. Thank you. John Leaird |
