Jim, In addition to my posting on the web, I created a article on my web page that includes step by step insructions... the direct link is http://www.musox.com/macosx/wirelessdriver.html Hope this helps you... -- Justin http://www.musox.com/ ---------- Original Message ------------- Subject: [Wirelessdriver-support] re: Lombard Success on 10.2.4... but with questions Date: Thu, 13 Mar 2003 02:26:24 -0500 From: Jim Mueller <jim...@ma...> To: wir...@li... I just spent several hours with my 333 Lombard X.2.4 trying to get my ner ORiNOCO silver to work with our AirPort. Reading what I can follow of your post confirms my suspicion that getting it to work may be beyond me. I used the 1.0.0b5 installer and SigMeter and WirelessConfig wound up loose in my Applications folder, and I had to run the kextload... Terminal commands to get the ethernet interface recognized, but a WirelessConfig preference pane never showed up in my System Preferences. I could use the WirelessConfig that was put in my Applications and once the interface was recognized I could enter our network name. I'm glad you said you could not get WEP to work 'cause that's what we have set up. Now I know why I couldn't get it to grab an address, though even when I entered valid settings manually I still could not connect. When I ran the uninstaller from the 1.0.0b5 download it died saying it could not find some files. The uninstaller from the FAQ web page worked fine, but the reinstall put everything in the wrong places again. I noticed a new menu bar icon that showed a PC card and it gave the option to Power Down the card which I accidently did. There appeared to be no way to power it back up since the icon then disappeared. I ejected the care and reinserted it, knowing that the KernelPanic had been fixed with 10.2. Well, evidently the process I went through caused the Kernel to Panic, so I just shut the blasted thing down and joined this list. I'll try to follow MusOX's directions tomorrow evening.... -- ____________________________________________________________ "Madness takes its toll.
