Hi, In regards to experience with an Airport Extreme Basestation. I have helped a friend set up his home network: Airport Extreme Basestation, 15" TiBook w/802.11b Airport card, 12" TiBook w/Airport Extreme (802.11g) card, Wallstreet w/Orionco Silver pc card (802.11b). Base station is configured with defaults, except it was set to not broadcast its name (closed), WEP was originally configured, but now turned off. SMNP access is off. WAN access is off. All communicate through base station and get IPs. All print through base station, IP printing in the case of the Wallstreet. All work with or without WEP turned on. All get stronger signal than Snow base station which was replaced, a second 15" TiBook (400) used to get lousy reception if it was further than about 20 feet from the Snow. Now it gets a strong signal anywhere in the house. Hope this helps, Brian At 06:28 PM 3/9/03 -0800, Mike Aronson wrote: > >I was advised by a retailer that I could use an >Orinoco Gold card with = >802.11g and the Airport Extreme base station with my >MAC LOMBARD PB. > Does anyone have experience with this combo ? > >Was MacWarehouse dreaming that there was >compatibility? > >My Lombard 333 won't pick up evidence of the base >station when 10.2 is = >engaged. > >When I boot from 9.1, I the signal is there, but the >base station but I = >have been told that the Airport can only be configured >from OS10. > >Catch 22. > >Any ideas / experience ? > >Michael Aronson > > >__________________________________________________ >Do you Yahoo!? >Yahoo!
