hello, i'm seeking to find a third party mac os x driver for proxim's skyline 802.11b usb adapter. and i need it to do WEP. i looked at your sight at http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net, and at your support faq. i see you have a driver that is compatible with the proxim skyline pci bus cards with mac os x. but will it work with the USB adapter? oh, and we need it to do WEP as our LAN admin refuses to back down on full 128-bit encryption on 802.11b wi-fi. so if it doesn't do WEP, i can't get on our network. we have an older imac 266/lime that is still good, could even run mac os x 10.2.3 (jaguar) if we dropped more ram in it. thing is, those imacs did not have any airport slot. we got proxim's skyline 802.11b usb adapter to get it on our wi-fi net (too far down in the basement to string ethernet cable in an old house), but they only had drivers for mac os 9 classic. farralon/proxim/orinoco had previously promised mac os x drivers, but in the shuffle of proxim buying up so many others, it looks like now they have the standard excuse of "no resources" to ever write a decent mac os x driver for their proxim's skyline 802.11b usb adapter. we would really like it to run mac os x so it can use rendezvous technology for ease of accessing our windows network and windows printers. so will any of the drivers on this site work with the proxim's skyline 802.11b usb adapter? or can i get some direction on how to tweak the source to make it work? any help, please, would be most appreciated. -- faddah not a monk, but the ghost of a fox the zen troll underneath the stairs the costello of dharma rain zen center portland, ore. fad...@ea... 503-449-0531 "Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend.
