Hello, I have a powerbook G3 series @ 233mhz. Im running X.1.5 and I have installed the wireless driver for it. I have the orinoco silver wireless card. I can access the internet fine with the wireless, but I can't connect to my desktop! I have tried the afp://IP address and I have the built in ethernet port disabled in active network ports under the network control panel. However, if i re-enable the ethernet port as active, and plug into the switch on the wireless router itself, I can access my desktop computer using either the afp://ipaddress or usinng the go--->connect to server--->appletalk browse feature. How can i access my desktop from my powerbook on a wireless network! Is there something I am forgetting? Oh yes, I don't have a airport basestation, i have a D-link 614+. When I called D-link they said that it shoud work, and sence it wasn't a problem with their hardware, they coudln't help me. any help would be greatly appreciated. -alex |
