I am trying to get it to connect to an existing wireless net work. I have an Airstation router to my DSL I have tried to using a breezenet PC card along with the Wireless driver fron sourceforge. Now I have a Netgear 401MA card installed. I have installed the Aerolan Universal Driver 2.0.1. I see a signal 3/4 strentgh in the Aerolan Preference Pane. Using the Network Utility I see in the info panel: Hardware Address 00:07:5b:32:45:05 ( numbers changed but similar ) IP address 169.354.220.80 ( numbers changed but similar ) Link Speed 11mb Vendor - Asante Model AeroLan PC Card Sent Packets 733 ( These keep changing ) Send errors 0 Recv Packets 0 Recv Errors 0 Collisions 0 I tried pinging the router and I get Ping has started Ping sento: host is down Ping sento: host is downPing sento: host is down Ping sento: host is down Ping 192.168.0.1 ( 192.168.0.1 ): 56 data bytes ping: wrote 192.168.0.1 64 chars, ret=-1 ping: wrote 192.168.0.1 64 chars, ret=-1 ping: wrote 192.168.0.1 64 chars, ret=-1 ping: wrote 192.168.0.1 64 chars, ret=-1 ---192.168.0.1 ping statistics --- 10 packets transmitted, 0 packets received, 100% packet loss I?m not a network expert by a long shot. I do not know how to interprete this info. P.S.I have an iMac which is connecting via airport just fine to the airstation Any help would be appreciated. |
