I too have a wall street with 512 MB of RAM. Had to remove one of the RAM boards to be able to install 10.2 without crashing and even then I had to keep the mouse in motion or the system would lock in the middle of the install as it appeared to enter sleep mode and die or actually more likely shut off the LCD. Once installed, I replaced the second RAM board and run now with 512K, not happily though. I get crashes where the screen blanks out and then sprouts, sometimes colored and sometimes monotone, lines on the left side of the display. The system appears active at this point and I am attempting to get myself set up to telnet into it and try to run one of the screen setup routines from the startup sequence to see if it restores operation. I doubt that Apple will see the wisdom in supporting modified older machines, but it would be a wise thing to do. My Lucent card works wonderfully with the latest Wireless driver, still no Appletalk printing, but all else is fine. -- Richard Yensen, Ph.D. Director, Orenda Institute Baltimore, Maryland FAX:(410) 664-5111 ry...@or... |
