Hi all, A while back I mentioned an incidental problem with the 5.1 driver to which I don't think anyone has responded. I bring it up again since it may have gone unnoticed as it was at the bottom of an email with a separate subject line: Ever since updating to the 5.1 driver on my PBG3 Lombard -- when I mount my Compact Flash card from my digital camera (through a PCMCIA card adapter) the wireless driver seems to take over and assumes that the device is my PCMCIA Orinoco card: the menubar icon shows up, and the flash card no longer mounts onto the desktop like it 'should' and I cant gracefully eject the card. Is this a limitation of the new wireless driver (version 4 seemed to leave my camera card alone) or maybe I've misconfigured something? Once 5.1 came out I thought I needed it for functionality with Jaguar, but others seem to have success with the instructions for modifying version 4, which I think I have saved somewhere. Maybe I could go back to version 4 under OS 10.2? (The OS X built-in photo-download-utility-thingy does come up asking if I want to download pictures, but this only allows crude manipulation of ALL pictures, and I like to be able to scan through them first as on a separately mounted drive. Plus there's the problem of not being able to properly unmount and eject the compact flash/PCMCIA card...) Any suggestions? As always, thanks to the developers and list members who generously donate their time and expertise to helping folks like me! :0) |
