Chris, Currently, this is normal behavior. The driver will not load until you login as a user and open the prefpane (hence the error messages). If you boot without the card inserted, you will have a rapid boot. If you insert the card after you log in, and then open the prefpane you will have a fast boot and have the driver working. We have been thinking about making a startupitem that reads a set of general prefs to alleviate this problem...the issue is: this occurs at the expense of security on multiuser machines...still working on it.
