Hi,
thanks to all to have contributed to make this issue easier on everybody.

Running PB G3 (1998) with boosted RAM 512MB, Farallon SkyLine 11Mb:
- logged in as root, uninstalled beta 4. No more Wireless Configuration PrefPane
- installed b5, restarted once, no en1 in the Network configuration. Restarted.
- installed second time, restarted. 
- works fine. No WEP (but I didn't have it with b4 either, because of the 
AP I use.
- the PC card icon in the Finder Menu doesn't show anything related to the card, except for the Eject Card command which is apparently workable, and was grayed out before the second install/restart.
