Running the uninstaller removed both WirelessConfig icons from the preferences panel. Running, only once, the WirelessDriver Beta5-1.mpkg installed a single WirelessConfig icon. Opening it showed that it had found the ABS - "Apple Network xxxxxx" showed up. There was no signal strength but -147dBm was the value and there is a new signal/noise button. Opening the Network preferences allowed the new service, EthernetAdaptor(en2), to be installed. Returning to WirelessConfig showed that there was now a signal. I'm happy. The closest I had to come to UNIX was typing the system password into the Terminal window which opened when I ran the uninstaller. Thanks to authors and all who helped. ---bwr |
