Rob, Brian, and all--I finally got the Lucent card up and running on my Wallstreet II under Jaguar. Strangely, the first install of beta5.1 didn't "take"--in other words, the WirelessDriver.ktext wasn't written to System/Library/Extensions even though the installer said "successful installation." Stefan--You might want to try what I did: uninstall beta5.1 (with uninstaller Terminal Script) and reinstall and restart with the card in the slot throughout the entire process. After restart, check to make sure WirelessDriver.ktext was indeed installed. I then went to WirelessConfig and actually saw signs of activity (a number appeared on the right side of the signal strength bar) and the network name box was accessible. I then put my network name in and clicked "apply." Network preferences then detected en(1) and listed it as an option. That's it! I'll run it a while, restart, etc. and report on stability later, but it looks very good right now. Three cheers for Rob and Company and all of the useful feedback I've gotten here. |
