Thanks for the clarification on your scenario, Brian. It seems that we 
have a very similar setup (I'm WS II, Jag, Lucent Gold), except that 
I'm working on a cleanly installed 10.2 and cleanly installed beta4 as 
per your "Pacifist" procedure. Yet Mr. Moe Moe, MacPG, and I all have 
the same problem. (For the record, I tried my wife's Proxim card--same 
result). I don't see how a clean install as opposed to your update 
install of 10.2 would make a difference (and it seems that's our only 
difference). I could uninstall beta4 and try again, but that might just 
be a waste of time. Any other suggestions, anyone--I seem so close to 
getting this thing to work.
