Hello folks. Just want to clarify a few things from my earlier post. I see some are having problems. I have a WallSteet II, 10.2, and Lucent Silver wireless card. It worked immediately for me with the steps provided. So maybe there is something else different going on here that made the change work for me and not others. My scenario: 1. Installed 10.2 as an Update (1st option) 2. After starting with Wireless card in noted I could see it but its lights were off and the Network panel didn't recognize it. 3. I Uninstalled it using the uninstaller script provided. 4. tried reinstalling and it failed, actually placing the components in my Applications folder. 5. The next day I tried my process after reading all the posts about it. I choose the process I did took for the following reasons. 1. I had noted that the Get Info now included permissions and you could change them at will. (and this is a very dangerous thing) 2. TextEdit now appeared to maintain file type when opening and saving an existing document. Much like BBEdit. Because of these two functionality changes from 10.2, I decided to try a non-terminal solution. I will be more than happy to work with anyone trying to figure this out. Marty, I appreciate you post of caution. I did not even look at the preference options before doing this. I assumed it would just work as I had occasion to save some other files and saw how it handled them. That assumption could have been costly. and yea well.... we all know what "assume" means. I could not find the preference you referred to in your post, unless you are talking about the Save option which is defaulted to Automatic.
