Since it looked like I wouldn't be able to use the D-Link 650+ in the near future, I bought a Linksys WPC-11. WirelessDriver worked perfectly. In fact, it discovered the SSID of our corporate network by itself. My Windows-using colleagues were surprised at how quickly I got wireless networking up and running. I have two comments. After installing the driver and restarting my PowerBook, it sat there for at least 5 minutes with the "Happy Mac" before actively booting up. I hope that was a one-time occurrence. I do have a small feature request. When I brought the PowerBook home, it wouldn't recognize the network until I manually changed the SSID to the name of my home network. It would be nice if the SSID could be tied to locations or if there were an option to force the card to look for a new network. Thanks for all of the effort you've put into writing WirelessDriver and for making it available to everyone as freeware. Jon |
