I've been using an SMC Barricade as an access point and recently acquired a D-Link WAP. I have a Siemens 2.4 GHz business phone system. 1. I've NOT had interference problems with the phone and either WAP. 2. With a WAP at the front of my home, I have acceptable signal through two floors to the back of the house. I deploy the D-Link at whichever location I land at in the course of the last two weeks and have gotten reasonable coverage through any one building. I _feel_ as though the SMC's range is less than that of the D-Link but have only tested in two environs. 3. I find that if I have a dropout, I have to get close enough for a strong signal in order to reconnect. -- 'tis as said. [Reality is defined by being described] |
