I have already described here the problems with wireless access and crashes in previous messages. In short, after two months of flawless wireless experience using wirelessdriver for 10.1.4 on TiPB 500, OSX 10.1. 5 I started crashing after wake up from sleep. The Skyline prism card 11MB always remained inserted. Since this happened right after I downloaded QuickTime 6, iTunes3, .Mac and RealOne Player for X I thought it was a bug related to the new programs basically set for 10.2. From FAQ I knew that OSX crashes once the card is removed when the computer is awake. First I played with it then I trashed and reinstalled wirelessdriver for 10.1.4 because I thought it was corrupted. It wasn't. I still had intermittent difficulties to log on wi-fi but usually I was successful. However, the crashes with the card inserted after wake up continued and my HD regularly damaged and needed repairs after each crash. It required going back to 9.2.2 and use DiskWarrior. Only after replacing the Skyline card with a new one the problems disappeared. The lesson is that the faulty card may still function but cause repeated crashes of OSX and HD damage. I think wirelessdriver is a solid software. I am looking forward to the 10. 2 upgrade. Milan |
