Rest assured, there is a solution in the works.

The problem is actually due to an oversight in OS X.  Version of 
OS X prior to Jaguar don't support the removal of a network 
interface from the system and, as a result , they panic.  I have 
been investigating a work-around for this, but it also provides 
another incentive to upgrade.
