If it's the original Apple Base Station (graphite) then that might be the problem. It seems even if you updated it, it doesn't support 128 bit encryption <http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120121> To quote, "Note: Earlier versions of the AirPort Base Station (Graphite) cannot be upgraded to 128-bit encryption." The Orinoco Gold is a 128 bit card and the current sourceforge wireless driver does not support 40 bit base stations with this card (see the F.A.Q. at http://wirelessdriver.sourceforge.net/faq.html). Specifically, it says, "128-bit WEP is supported when connecting to 128-bit access points, 40-bit access points (like the original Basestation) are NOT supported." This is something on my wishlist.
