I think the problem is in the Internet connect settings, as I am getting a signal from the card. I worked on this so much now that I am totally confused. I even tried manually setting the IP, etc settings from my cable modem, but realize that that is really what my Airport Base station is using. My G4 is also on the network, with an Airport card. I tried using the same DHCP settings, to no avail. (I would send a screen shot of these, but don't think I can in this forum. I also moved all of the Airport extensions out of the System (9.2) folder, eving though i am booting in 10.1. (Tried booting in 9.2 and have the same issue.) The card is doing what I wanted for my tiBook.
