The WinPython Control Panel should support the somewhat-new Python Wheel (.whl) files for installing packages.

More and more package maintainers are starting to use this format, and it would be nice to be able install these with the easy-to-use control panel.

Pierre stopped maintaining his python project last winter.
Wheel support is on the next release of winpython.github.io (should be mid-october)
You can also download directly in your existing old winpython from the new project : winpython\controlpanels, winpython\utils.py and winpython\wppm.py for the same effect.
