#56 Excluding Subversion Directories for "Copy Left To Right"

One of the greatest uses of Winmerge is code
promotion. It does this job extremely well.
However, in Subversion, there are hidden files (.svn
folders) which you would want to exclude when you
promote code from one region to the next.

I would like to request a feature which allows the
user to exclude certain folders on a "Copy Left To
Right" or "Copy Right To Left" operation.

Thanks for a great program!

Hmm. Can't you just filter those folders with file filters?
That's what I (and I think lot of users) do for CVS folders.

    Moving to support requests -list.

    Hi kimmov,
Yes you can exclude folders using the filters, but this
does NOT exclude them when a "Copy to Right/Left" operation
is performed. They get copied over to the destination. When
you are promoting code this causes all sorts of problems.
    Does this make sense?
    Thanks

You didn't hide filtered items out of view? (View/Show
    Skipped Items).

WinMerge only copies selected and visible items. So if you
hide filtered items they are not copied.

    Hi kimmov,
I have "View/Show Skipped Items" unchecked and i am using
version 2.4.6.0. I am uploading a video file
    (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HLT6XJJO) which shows the
problem exactly, maybe it will help. Thanks for your
    attention.
